Shutter Styles Explained

Full Height Shutters

A clean, elegant style that covers the entire window from top to bottom. They're perfect for creating a simple, modern look while giving you excellent light control and privacy.

Tier-on-Tier Shutters

These feature two separate sets of panels, one on the top and one on the bottom, that operate independently. This gives you maximum flexibility: open the top for light while keeping the bottom closed for privacy.

Café Style Shutters

Covering only the lower portion of the window, café style shutters allow plenty of natural light in while providing privacy at street level. They're ideal for living rooms, kitchens, and homes with street-facing windows.

Full Solid Shutters

Made with solid panels rather than slats, this traditional style adds a classic look and offers excellent insulation, sound reduction, and privacy. Great for bedrooms or period properties.

Tracked Shutters

Designed for larger openings such as patio doors, or wide windows. The panels glide smoothly along a track, making them easy to open and close while providing stylish coverage for big spaces.

Louvre Widths

Louvre width refers to the size of each individual horizontal slat (or blade) on your shutters or blinds. These typically range from 47mm to 114mm.

The width you choose plays an important role in both the look and functionality of your shutters. It influences the overall style, how much natural light enters the room, the level of privacy you have, and how clearly you can see through when the blades are open.

Smaller louvres create a more traditional, classic appearance and offer a greater sense of privacy. Wider louvres deliver a clean, modern look while allowing more light in and providing a clearer view outside.
